If you went to onsmash.com today, you were likely greeted with this; A message from three different government departments.
Looks like this is the Major Labels answer to the economic music decline. Artists are becoming more independent and it is thanks in large part to blogs and online outsources. The obvious response to that is to take them down.... with the law. While I am a fan and supporter of OnSmash as a website, as a musician myself, I can say I don't blame the labels on this one.
It's simple; artists give a ton of free music to the public via blogs for many obvious reasons and I think its great for music. But we aren't ever satisfied are we? Bloggers have to take it a step further and post leaks, and radio rips and things that were never meant for release and THAT is hurting music.
I could go on for day's about having respect for the artist that provide us with the content and media that make us relevant in the first place but I will leave you with this;
You never have and never will find anything on beallmighty.com that wasn't meant for promotional release and never will, out of respect for the artists, producers and contributors to the music. People who work hard for a culture they believe in.
So on that note, Rest in Peace OnSmash. Watch out 2Dopeboyz, NahRight, etc. and keep supporting the culture.
The success of MBDTF inspires the latest addition to our collection of wreckless Kanye rants.
He also performed the album in its entirety in NY last night, catch "Monster" below.
Next single after "I Hope He Cheats On You" by The Songstress with the help of Just Blaze on the production. Late Nights & Early Mornings is expected to drop early next year.
[Over the last few weeks, we've focused a little more energy in our twitter account and in doing so, I realized that we have a lot of pretty dope followers who show love. In order to show it back, I've decided to give a weekly highlight to one of our followers that's doing their thing and who better to kick it off than Ayomari? Enjoy]
I first got familiar w/ his name a while back during my few typical 2dbz runs but it wasn't until recent word got back that Ayomari was killin shit down at the A3C Fest that I was forced to pay attention and now, you should as well:
AVILES: In one sentence, who is Ayomari?
AYOMARI: A Chicago born, Georgia raised lover of all things dope.
How have you gotten to this the point in your career?
Knowing the right people, releasing a solid project (The PB&J Solution), having online support (blogs, music websites, social networks etc.) & family support.
Has twitter hurt or helped you and your career, if so how?
Twitter has allowed me to not only get my music out faster and to more people, but also track the feedback of the people who listen. Yes, I keep an ever watchful eye on what's being said! Fortunately people seem to dig it lol
Where do you ultimately aim to be and how do you plan on getting there?
Doing music full time, supporting a comfortable lifestyle for myself. I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to get there, but I don't plan on stopping until I can't go any longer.
Likes and dislikes about the current state of hip hop?
I like that there are some people out there trying to push rap as an art form. I dislike how self centered hip hop has become, it's almost a parody of itself. I forgot who coined the term 'the death of original thought' when referring to this age, but I believe that almost sums up hip hop. That said, I definitely don't believe hip hop is dead, and I'm excited for the future with cats like Yelawolf,
Kendrick Lamar, Homeboy Sandman, Blu, Pac Div, TiRon, J. Cole, Dom Kennedy etc.
Any final words about your upcoming works, what to expect from you, words to you fans/followers, etc.
As always, if you haven't had a chance to check out my mixtape 'The PB&J Solution' [and] I just finished shooting a video for my song 'Body Language', be on the look out for that.

This years Fame Festival featuring London-based artist, Slinkachu."For those unfamiliar, the Fame Festival plays on the disparity between the Italian and English meaning of the word “fame” (hunger in the former) and features around a dozen artists who hope to bring new perspectives to the area." - Alex Milner of hypebeast. More pics and a vid after the jump.
I was expecting a bit more not only for the visuals but for the track itself.. regardless, im still excited for his upcoming release. Supervillain Issue 3 out this monday.
One of Kanye's iTunes bonus tracks that I've been feigning for on the deluxe version of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy co-produced by Kanye West, No I.D, & Lex Luger. The album is absolutely crazy, and I'm glad I got it for cheap, but be sure to preorder it here.
told ya.. produced by none other than Ski Beatz off his upcoming album, Supervillain Issue 3 dropping November 22nd. Along w/ Ye & Spitta, I'm gonna start my Thanksgiving break early.
Hosted by 9th Wonder and DJ Green Lantern, North Carolina buzz maker Thee Tom Hardy has hooked up with DJBooth.net to bring fans the highly-anticipated second entry in his Hardy Boy Mystery Mixtape series, Secret of Thee Green Magic.
In preparation for his upcoming project I Wish I Was White, Page drops an exclusive, not featured on the tape. Apparently, he's going to continue to release tracks until the release on December 10th. It should be an interesting month.
As promised for my 2nd entry of Sunday Afternoons, I decided to give my Uncle Will's childhood comic books some daylight. Now folks, I've been waiting for this day my whole life. Just put yourself back when you were 6 years old. Your Uncle has 2 full milk crates of super crazy books w/ superhero's you somewhat know about. All you want to do is look at the pictures, maybe add a little crayola and probably in the process, rip the pages out to eventually get distracted by something else (guilty as charged).
14 years and a few mediocre Marvel movies later, I grew to appreciate this world of narrative artwork. With the help of my homies Korey and Alyse, we bring you Uncanny Fiction.
